Our Team

Dr. Karen Logan, D.D.S

Deciding on a career path can be challenging for anyone. For Karen, many of her earliest childhood memories are of the dream of practicing dentistry.

Karen's journey began in 1991 when she attended the University of Western Ontario (UWO). Karen worked as a histology and parasitological teaching assistant and also in an endocrinology lab studying the effects of hormone levels on breast cancer cells. This led to the completion of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology in 1994. Karen's love for animals, insects, and just about anything Mother Nature provides, contributed to her decision to complete her Honors Science Degree in Zoology in 1995. From here, Karen packed up and moved to the west coast, where in 1997 she completed a Masters Degree in Neuropathology from the University of British Columbia. The focus of her thesis was the neuropathology of infants affected by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In 1998 Karen returned to London and her Alma Mater and immersed herself in the study of Dentistry. In addition to dental school, Karen worked in a microbiology laboratory researching the effects of Vitamin D on bone growth during human development. Four years later she graduated with a Doctoral Degree in Dental Surgery.

Karen's professional career began in 2002 as an associate dentist where it soon became apparent to her that she wanted her own practice, and in 2003 she purchased a practice in London from Dr. Robert Van Alphen.

Continuing Education is an integral part of Karen's commitment to excellence and she demonstrates this commitment by attending the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). Since 2005, Karen has completed the seven core courses in pursuit of a Mastership of Aesthetics and Neuromuscular Dentistry designation (LVIM). In December 2008, Karen graduated with distinction from the seventh and final core course, Full Mouth Reconstruction. In doing so, and following the successful completion of a comprehensive exam, Karen has earned the status of "LVI Fellow".

Taking a break for Karen means spending time with her husband and Business Manager, Mike, and their children Amanda, Jacob, Tessa, Ally, Aeden, and Owen on their family farm just outside London, Ontario, Canada.
